Solution for waste heat recovery
Stiral designed the BatTherm© phase-change materials heat storage unit to store excess heat produced by industrial processes, and re-inject it when required.
A unit consists of a stainless steel tank and phase change materials (PCM) for operation in temperature range of :
- hot fluid during the storage phase : 130-180°C
- cold fluid during the release phase : 60-110°C
It is used mainly in industrial applications and construction :
- For a reduction of primary energy consumption by industrial processes : recover, store thermal energy between processes, and return when power demand is more important
- As replacement of hydro-accumulation in the collective building and district heating : compactness reduces significantly the footprint ; storage at atmospheric pressure reduces the risks due to pressurized storing.
Its rectangular shape makes installation and positioning easy.
Each battery is designed using modular components to meet the conditions of its use: temperature ranges, occupied volume, charge / discharge cycle and power output.
With its simple, robust design, this system is easy to set up, operate and maintain.
